A beautiful terrace planting contributes a lot to the well-being. If you then create a harmonious transition between the terrace and the garden, your green realm is almost perfect.
Before: The sunny terrace lacks a nice transition to the lawn. In addition, you feel more comfortable on the seat if it is well shielded from prying eyes. So you also need a good privacy screen.
Four small rectangular beds form the transition from the terrace to the garden. All are edged with lavender. In the middle of each bed, a red blooming standard rose ‘Amadeus’ unfolds its lush flowers. The existing pink blooming standard rose to the left of the terrace will also be preserved. The roses are planted under with white flowering Schönaster and Scabiosa, which bloom together until September.
In the beds facing the lawn, peonies with pale pink double flowers complement the planting. The red climbing rose ‘Amadeus’ conquers the wrought-iron rose arch between the terrace beds. You can walk through the small part of the garden on narrow gravel paths. High hornbeam hedges are planted on both sides of the terrace, which are always cut into shape. They keep the wind and strangers out. They also provide some shade.
The two white wooden benches are accompanied by planted pots in which red standard roses ‘Mainaufeuer’, planted under with white pelargoniums, set beautiful accents. Evergreen plants such as box cones or a double-ball cypress in a pot complement the elegant design for avowed romantics in various places on the terrace and in the bed.
